2025 CARF SURVEY REPORT

Summary

On balance, LMSCL Lower Mainland Society for Community Living demonstrated substantial conformance to the standards. LMSCL is a respected, mission-driven organization providing group home care, respite, community housing, and community integration to youth and adults with developmental disabilities in the Vancouver area. 

LMSCL's leadership and staff are recognized for supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours. It provides services in stable, safe, and nurturing environments, with a core objective of promoting health, well-being, and personal growth. LMSCL is staffed by a diverse team of dedicated professionals and paraprofessionals with knowledge in developmental disabilities, physical m disabilities, and mental health. Feedback from families and other stakeholders reflects consistent and unanimous satisfaction. Employees routinely exceed expectations in their support of persons served and families. LMSCL is firmly committed to its mission of helping persons served reach their full potential. The leadership is characterized by vision, stability, and strategic foresight, supported by sound financial planning and a well-developed framework of health and safety for staff members and persons served.

Significant investments have been made in technology, staff training, and organizational infrastructure to strengthen both service quality and business functions. Opportunities for improvement include health and safety, program/service structure, medication monitoring and management, and medication use. 

LMSCL Lower Mainland Society for Community Living appears likely to maintain and/or improve its current m method of operation and demonstrates a commitment to ongoing quality improvement. LMSCL Lower Mainland Society for Community Living is required to submit a post-survey Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) to CARF that addresses all recommendations identified in this report. LMSCL Lower Mainland Society for Community Living has earned a Three-Year Accreditation. The leadership team and staff are complimented and congratulated for this achievement.
